چکیده
A model predicting the number of emission sites and total current from a porous conical electrospray emitter as functions voltage is derived. pressure balance between capillary electric forces used to determine an onset criterion for individual menisci, ionic scaling law invoked predict each meniscus emits. These submodels are integrated over phenomenological size distribution area yield performance function five free parameters, two submodel three distribution. Bayesian inference applied these parameters existing dataset [Dressler et al., J. Propul. Power 38, 809 (2022)]. The predictions after training compared experimental data, it found that majority data within 90% credible interval. ability capture key trends in attributed interplay effects: on position-dependent field. calibrated results also suggest surface wetted by series large but sparsely distributed pools propellant. extensibility examined context model-based design array thrusters.

Terahertz emission from electric field singularities in biased semiconductors.
We use electric field singularities in biased metal semiconductor microstructures to enhance the generation of terahertz (THz) radiation from semiconductors. We find that, regardless of the mechanism that is responsible for enhanced THz emission near the anode, singular electric fields near sharp anode features will enhance this emission by as much as an order of magnitude. We show scanning THz...
متن کاملEffect of Cell Size and Shape on Electric Field Threshold and Critical Transmembrane Voltage for Electroporation
Introduction: Electroporation is a technique for increasing the permeability of the cell membrane to otherwise non-permeate molecules due to an external electric field. This permeability enhancement is detectable if the induced transmembrane voltage becomes greater than a critical value which depends on the pulse strength threshold. In this study, the variabil...
متن کاملLocal Electric Field Variation in the Field Emission Process
Tunnelling probabilities in field emission processes are usually calculated assuming flat emitting surfaces. This corresponds to consider the electric field as a constant along the potential barrier. Previous work have shown the importance of taking into account image effects but neglecting local field variations. Even when the local field has been taken into account, a proper three dimensional...
متن کاملLab and Field Scale Modeling of Near Miscible CO2 Injection in Different Porous Mediums
The main purpose of this investigation is to study the effect of near miscible CO2 injection in different porous mediums on both lab and field scales. This effect can be traced by the change of two-phase gas-oil relative permeability curves. In this work, the experiments have been performed on three rock types (i.e. sandstone, dolomite, and artificial fractured sandstone) based on an incrementa...
متن کامل2 Modeling Variable Emission Lines in Active
We present a new scheme for modeling the broad line region in active galactic nuclei (AGNs). It involves photoionization calculations of a large number of clouds, in several predetermined geometries, and a comparison of the calculated line intensities with observed emission line light curves. Fitting several observed light curves simultaneously provides strong constraints on model parameters su...
